Step 4: Screen Printing
|
|
Glass travels from the washing station to a
humidity-controlled, dust-free screen printing room. Here, a variety of images may be silk screened onto the
surface of the glass. After printing, the glass is then heated, allowing
solvents to evaporate from the ceramic frit, then cooled back to room
temperature to provide a green strength cure for the lite of glass to be
handled without smudging the printing prior to permanently firing the
ceramic frit into the surface of the glass in the tempering process.
